The Darling River - Routes
Driving from The North Coast to Outback NSW Getting to/from the Darling River Run from the NSW North Coast

By Car

Anyone travelling up or down the east coast will notice that the Pacific Highway is a very busy route as it is not only a wonderful place to visit but is also a major transport route between Brisbane and Sydney.

A great alternative for travel to/from the north coast from/to Melbourne, The Great Ocean Road (to visit the twelve Apostles) or Adelaide and the West, is via The Darling River Run.  As the River flows south west from Queensland through NSW to the Victorian border it is a great alternative to the coast road to visit Victoria or South Australia.

These routes allow you to experience outback Australia without getting too far 'off the beaten track' ... to visit outback NSW means you have access to the outback without the isolation associated with other outback areas.
